The Effect of the Internet on Local Business
In the wondrous global economy that we have today you can sit at home and do whatever you want without ever leaving home. You can find love, you can order products, you can work and read newspapers. You can even shop for and buy your groceries from home. In fact, no one really ever needs to leave home for anything today. While this makes life a lot easier for almost everyone in it, there are some casualties of the ease of the Internet that we don’t often consider.
If you are someone looking to become a citizen of this country then you can fins the US Immigration Forms that you need to get your US Visas and handle your Green Card Renewal right on the computer in your living room. That is one of the nice things that really do not affect your local Business economy. But let’s consider the impact that the Internet is having on the rest of your local area.
When you stay at home and purchase online you save some money but eventually the local stores will go out of business so you lose your local go to store and will not be able to just walk in and shop if the thought moves you for quick last minute items. You can work from home which is great for saving gas but humans need other human contact and eventually your will crave someone else to interact with. And as far as magazines and newspapers go, a lot of them have already gone out of business because they simply have little to offer and not many advantages over the Internet sources.
Yes you may be able to handle the thing like US Immigration Forms or US Visas and even Green Card Renewals on the Internet and that should have little to no impact on the local business environment. But the other things that you can do on there can have some far reaching and grave consequences on what makes up your local business economy.
For example, what happens when everyone is doing all of their grocery shopping on line? It’s going to be great for the majority of the time as long as you plan well in advance for what you need and what you are going to be offering for meals. But what happens when the surprise out of town guests show up and you have no food top feed everyone and they are hungry? If there is no local grocery because they have gone out of business from the Internet competition you will likely have to travel a far distance to shop for your food for that meal and it will most definitely be expensive.
So use the Internet wisely. Use it to hunt up information on things like the US Immigration Forms. Use it to help with your US Visas or to help you get you’re Green Card Renewal but let’s do some local shopping as well and save the local economy for future generations.
